Hello, I'm Rebecca and I'm a 20 year old Australian uni student - welcome to my Japanese journal, Uzukiko! My username comes from the Japanese poetic term for April (uzuki) and child (ko) - I attempted to make a name by smooshing the two together.

All my personal stuff (and in English) is over at jynnantonnyx28, feel free to friend me there if you want to - I will be updating that LJ much more than this one, mainly because thinking in Japanese takes more effort :P

I've been learning Japanese for 8 years now. I started in high school (that's year 8 to year 12), lived for 10 months in Tokyo as an exchange student, studied it again when I went back to high school (got bad marks, had to repeat *sigh*), and I'm currently studying Japanese at Adelaide University.

I'm not quite sure what I want to do with my Japanese but I do know that I don't want to forget it. This means I need to practice. So in this journal will just be general things, probably associated with my Japanese course. I'm also aiming to post my weekly Kanji practice and new vocabulary words.

If I make mistakes please let me know - it's the whole reason why I'm doing this online - I need feedback. Even if you don't know what's wrong but it doesn't sound right, that's okay, just say so :) And feel free to comment in English or Japanese.
